Reproducing the shiny beauty of Gabicce would indeed be hard even to the greatest landscape painters. Nature has such blinding colours around there, as if after absorbing the warm sunbeams shining around. Nature stands out here because of two environments, as much different as intimately integrated to each other as to offer a surprising show. First of all there are the beaches of the Adriatic sea, transparent and clean, rippled only by happy bathers. Here the seaside has a peculiar shape, different from the confining coasts: it creates a natural inlet where, further to a beach covered with sand that looks like gold dust, another one, the beautiful Vallelugola Bay which people in Gabicce call \u201cSottomonte\u201d (by the mountain), is gravelled. The mountain is St. Bartolo, the second great protagonist of the environment in Gabicce, whose northern slope touches the town, somewhere waning, somewhere else coming by steep cliffs, quite different from the surrounding beaches. The rocks embracing the sea make up an exceptionally beautiful diptych that fills the view with suggestion and poetry. Mount St. Bartolo hosts on its top the homonymous Natural Park and the show of the blue sea from a terrace rich with a luxuriant and varied nature. What is finer that walking across Pliny\u2019s straws (Arundo Plinii Turra) slightly bent by the wind, stopping for a moment in the shadow of an oak or of a pine tree, and then reach to the extremity of the mountain in front of the boundless sea? St. Bartolo Park is rich with a green nature spotted by plenty of bright yellow blossoms of broom trees.
