The St. Bartolo Natural Park adds to the poetry of suggestive landscapes the substance of a rich and fertile land that offers genuine typical products. This result is due to the natural union of a ground originating from sandy rocks, rich with limestone, with the peculiar microclimate created by the nearby sea. At the origin of one of these products there is a historical vocation for the cultivation of grapevine, the basis for the production of wines renowned in the field of Italian oenology. Belonging to the area of the “Colli Pesaresi” (Pesaro Hills) DOC wines: they are “Colli Pesaresi Focara” and “Colli Pesaresi Parco Naturale Monte San Bartolo”. The former, in the “Focara Rosso” (Red Focara) and “Focara Pinot Nero” (Black Focara Pinot) varieties, is produced from grapes cultivated round the Castle of Fiorenzuola di Focara, the suggestions of whose landscape it looks like capturing in its flavour. The latter is produced as “Sangiovese” and “Cabernet Sauvignon”, with grapes coming from the whole area of the Park. They are excellent products to be enjoyed at the table, and which like many others are an integral part of the menu offered to tourist, in the centre of the city, by Tipico.tips along with products of local artisans. The high quality of these wines is in the limelight at the “Pesaro Wine Festival”, an event that takes place at the end of March and is dedicated to Italian and foreign artisan wines. The enogastronomic offer of Pesaro also boasts, in mid September, the “Sagra della Pizza Rossini” (Rossini Pizza Festival) which celebrates the best cooks of the pizza dedicated to the great composer, and makes them compete. The pizza, made with hard-boiled eggs and mayonnaise coupled with a classic Margherita pizza, with its originality and taste would have certainly teased Rossini’s palate.
