The charm of nature

All landscapes around the hillscapes

An itinerary of beauty cannot exclude the landscape beauties. The idea itself of an itinerary matches perfectly the one of “scattered municipality”, the institutional and geographical form of Terre Roveresche, which is by definition a path embracing a wild and typical area. This territory does indeed personify the essence of Marche, the region of natural variety, since it includes all possible landscape forms. It is framed north and south by the Metauro and Cesano rivers; east, the Adriatic sea shines with crystal reflections; west, near the wonders of the Furlo Canyon, stand out the tops of Catria and Nerone mountains. A varied horizon, amazing to those who get here for the first time, and yet familiar to residents, so that in Barchi two streets skirting the city centre are named “Via Mura al Mare” and “Via Mura al Monte” (respectively: “Walls facing the Sea” and “Walls facing the Mountain” streets). A show that can be admired from the hamlets scattered in Terre Roveresche. Each of them is in fact a balcony enabling to admire the landscape, a splendid belvedere were one can let his thoughts drift away while, leaning on the balustrades of the ancient city walls, the gaze gets lost in the picturesque suggestion of Nature. Rivers, plains, seas and mountains, and most of all hills, are the essence and mark the landscape of this territory. Travelling in Terre Roveresche means harmoniously going up and down its ridges and hills patched with the colours of farmland, changing at every turn of the seasons and always rich with intense chromatic shades. A curvilinear landscape where shadows and lights play and grant the climatic conditions which, along with the generosity of the ground, create the biodiversity characterizing the products of its agriculture. Places worth visiting peacefully and cheerfully to enjoy Terre Roveresche, a generous and hospitable land.
