Between music and Renaissance

The harmony of ancient music and the historic re-enactments

In Fossombrone one breaths a cheerful, pleasant air. Here Ottaviano Petrucci was born, the inventor of the movable-type music printing, to whom in October every year a festival of ancient music is dedicated; and the heavenly notes produced by the instruments expand in the alleys and the streets. Then, in March, the town becomes the capital city of Tartufo Bianchetto (little white truffle): the trade show attracts hundreds of visitors since thirty years. In May, furthermore, the town streets are invaded by the Triumph of Carnival, a historical renaissance re-enactment involving everybody in town, from children to the elderly, in jubilation, exultance and enthusiasm: a chance for all to group together and reinforce the spirit of the community.
