Rio Salso is one of Tavullia’s boroughs, surrounded by a rich natural environment and constantly resounding with the flow of the Foglia river. But also another sound characterizes this locality. It is the gun shots from the “San Martino” Skeet, a great sport plant dedicated to clay-plate shooting and its many disciplines. In particular, here mostly Olympic Pit and Compak Sporting are practiced. The former is the most traditional skeet practice, one which, as its name suggests, may be worth a gold medal in the Olympic Games. Compak Sporting, instead, is a more recent and very successful speciality, whose World Championship was hosted here in 2018. With its eight perfectly equipped shooting fields, “San Martino” Skeet is an absolute excellence Ideal both to beginners who wish to try this fascinating sport and to professionals who can access a structure hosting every year three national and one international competitions, Skeet is also beautiful in itself with its immense, perfectly kept green spaces in the charming natural frame of Tavullia. Close to the Skeet there is St. Martin in Foglia’s, and ancient parish church dating back to the XI century which inherited its name and is an authentic piece of Tavullia’s history. Sport, industriousness, passion and fun, all immersed into nature and history.
